Our aim is to regenerate not only the local waterways, but also the business environment along the canal corridor.
Each and every business is vital to the continued economic growth for the Stroud District and beyond.

A Benefit to Stroud Business
One of the main aims of the project is to regenerate the canal corridor for economic prosperity, and as such, it offers exciting potential benefits for companies situated alongside it.
The project to restore the canals between Stonehouse and Brimscombe Port is expected to result in a projected increase of 215,000 visitors per year by 2014, and the creation of 600 new jobs to the Stroud District.
"The project will primarily attempt to retain the industry for which the Stroud district is so well known for," says Councillor Nigel Studdert-Kennedy.
"We are looking to see these businesses grow and flourish in order to compete successfully within a very competitive 21st century business climate. The canal offers many exciting potential benefits for companies situated alongside it."
